My two kids are very excited by adventure tales, especially those that include mystical creatures, and this fun read is packed with them! In this story, Princesses Rosalie and Scarlet find that the King’s scepter has been stolen. Determined to bring the scepter back home, they follow their first clue, the tiny grains of yellow sand left behind by the thief. Their quest leads them all across the kingdom. Along the way they meet mermaids, unicorns, wizards, and even a fire-breathing dragon. Through it all Princess Rosalie and Princess Scarlet show determination, intelligence, and kindness. My kids loved the rhyming lines in the story and they use the map in the back to act out the story as well. Author Julie Hinges‘ first book is a hit in this house! Nazar Horokhivskyi‘s illustrations are really beautiful- full of color and depth.
