Today we had the pleasure of meeting astronaut Mae Jemison (on Zoom of course) through a program offered by the Newark Museum of Art. Dr. Jemison is a NASA astronaut, engineer, and physician. She was the first Black woman in space, traveling on the shuttle Endeavour. We were inspired as we listened to her share her experiences and lessons along the way that helped her to persevere and fulfill her dreams. Her messages around persistence and what has inspired her filled our cups today.
Dr. Jemison’s story is featured in one of our favorite children’s books, Mae Among the Stars. We love Mae Among the Stars, a story of following your dreams and believing in yourself.
